My name is Bianca Meijer. Since I was born in 1971, my parents had already owned sheep. These were not studbook sheep but farmers Texel. In 2013, together with my friend Johan, I bought the first 3 badger head sheep in Oldenholdpade from the Ter Laar family. In 2014 again with the Terlaar family but this time a badger head ewe with 2 ewe lambs. These weren’t studbook sheep either. After 6 years of breeding these sheep, I really wanted to enter the studbook together with my daughter Amanda. But unfortunately this was not possible with my own bred sheep due to a closed studbook. After much deliberation, we decided to sell our badger heads. Fortunately, they ended up well and the new owner enjoys them just as much as we did. After a lot of searching for studbook ewes, we came into possession of new studbook sheep in 2019. Including 4 badger head ewes from the Scholtens family and 2 badger head ewes from Mr. Beijeman. We are going to try to breed a nice couple of studbook badger heads. Since 2018, our company has been slacker free and since 2019, our company has also been scrapie unsuspected. We are now a member of the Blue Texelaar studbook with studbook number 26458 and UBN number 6279732.
